Description:
Equipment Specialist to provide logistics support to Space Lift Range Support (SLRS) Program Office working at SMC in Los Angeles. Prior SLRS space launch logistics experience/knowledge a must. Equipment Specialists collect, analyze, assess, interpret, and provide specialized equipment information with related advice to personnel designing, testing, producing, procuring, supplying, operating, repairing, or disposing equipment. Equipment Specialists encompass all disciplines and includes all system/equipment stages (e.g., pre-production, production, operational use, and disposal). Equipment Specialists perform a wide variety of support activities, applying diverse but related processes and methods to establish, monitor, analyze, review, optimize, and maintain all aspects of each stage. Equipment Specialists perform field assessments to identify and eliminate systems requiring extensive unscheduled maintenance; solve operational, maintenance, repair and long term spares issues; resolve faulty substitute material, tool, or equipment concerns; shorten scheduled maintenance actions, and optimize system performance.

SLRS Equipment Specialists bring vital expertise gained from experience on SLRS equipment. SLRS Equipment Specialists review and interpret engineering, feasibility, and trade studies, requirements, and engineering documents to identify the root cause of the questionable performance. SLRS Equipment Specialists help develop metrics based on SLRS specifications, standards, and performance history; these metrics establish baselines for: root cause analyses; change request evaluation; supportability analyses; cost measures analyses (to include rework rates); trend analyses (both cost and performance); logistics planning; and for determining mission effectiveness, reliability, and maintainability assessments. The SLRS Equipment Specialists role continues with product improvement support, including technical changes to procurement specifications, evaluating engineering change proposals, and supportability assessments. SLRS Equipment Specialists evaluate trade-off and risk analyses, technical data packages, manufacturing processes, materials, specifications, and maintenance requirements/concepts needed to operate and repair down to the smallest part. Finally, to verify source data accuracy, SLRS Equipment Specialists perform functional and physical configuration audits and validate/verify TOs.
